HOW LONG DOES A SESSION USUALLY RUN?

The initial in-person session is approx. 90 minutes to review and discuss history, pain, posture and eating regiment. It is not uncommon for a client to experience intense “processing” reaction during a session such as sweating, lightheadedness or even chills. These are signals that the body has had all it can take for the moment. Progress is usually noticeable after the first visit, though others may take longer to get significant results.

Coaching sessions – Initial Session is approx 50 minutes with subsequent sessions lasting 30 minutes in length.   

HOW MUCH DO THE SESSIONS COST?

The initial session is $225 with subsequent visits $70 thereafter for in person sessions.

If RockTape (kinesiology tape) is advised pricing is variable and determined by complexity. Accept cash or check. No credit cards. Sessions are paid as you go.

Health Coaching is purchased in packages of 3, 6 and 12 month Coaching Programs. $450 per month. The program is structured with a one hour session per month and  3 – 30 minutes weekly check-in’s, monthly client newsletter.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL IT TAKE TO FIX MY POSTURE IMBALANCE ISSUE?

Applies to in person visits only. The simpler and more recent the problem, the more likely you’ll be in and out with a minimum of visits.  Older problems are another issue, the longer ones have had a particular imbalance, the more likely it is that that imbalance has led to other imbalances. It is usually impossible to clear all of these layers or imbalance, and would be ill-advised if it were possible. It is not unusual for new or different symptoms to arise soon after a session. This is a result of older layers of imbalances being coming to the forefront.. This is normal and should not be cause for concern.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO AN IN PERSON SESSION?

All sessions are “clothes on” sessions … a comfort for many people.  Occasionally I’ll ask that a particular item of clothing be adjusted or removed if it’s particularly in the way.  Work-out type clothes … loose fitting, comfortable and dress in layers. NO DENIM PLEASE!  Shorts and a t-shirt are usually best.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION?

IN PERSON VISIT – Every session starts with recent history; pains, ailments, range of motion assessments to determine where we start that day.  Corrective exercises and or stretches to reinforce ignite or jump start a particular muscle group are instructed and modeled.   Getting comfortable with where you are in space (proprioception) and visually recognizing where imbalances are presented when standing in front of a mirror is helpful.  This helps the client make the corrections immediately and correspond it to what it feels like to be in proper alignment. Your body will feel a difference right away in the strength of the muscles and the density of the weight of the appendages.   Most clients say that a cross between a physical therapy session and a massage therapy session.

WHAT DO YOU DO DIFFERENTLY THAN A PHYSICAL THERAPIST?

I am a certified personal trainer and not a physical therapist.  The primary difference between this and physical therapy is regarding the scope of practice.  Physical therapists have a more expansive scope that personal trainers. There are certain techniques licensed PT’s can employ that trainers cannot.  These include: ultrasound, electrical stimulation, EMG and wound care.  I can assign corrective exercises to complement my program.

WHAT DO I DO DIFFERENTLY THAN A PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELOR?

I maintain a master’s in Certified Health Coaching. As a health coach I cannot diagnose, treat, or prescribe. Coaching results cannot be guaranteed. Clients agree that they are entering a coaching agreement with the understanding that they are responsible for their own results.

Through guided direction and a holistic approach to the body and movement, I work alongside individuals to shift the limiting beliefs of themselves to realize their potential where they are out of balance.
